The South Capitol Street Memorial Amendment Act of 2012 mandates that the Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) provide behavioral health training to administrators and teachers of child development centers and DC Public and Public Charter Schools. Additionally, the Youth Suicide Prevention and School Climate Survey Amendment Act of 2016 added the training requirement of suicide postvention and the frequency of the overall behavior health training completion requirement of every 2 years for all of the required behavioral health topics which include the modules of at-risk, referral and suicide postvention.
Through the portal of www.supportdcyouth.com, DBH provides access to the required behavioral health training modules. Below provides the posting of the individual school compliance percentages or number of completions of the three required modules across the DC Public and Public Charter Schools who serve the District’s youth. Given the public health emergency, a reset of the compliance cycle was implemented in 2020. This allows all DC administrators and teachers to be required to complete on the same two-year cycle moving forward. The next compliance period is January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2022.
The training completions below are for the reporting period of 1/1/2020– 12/31/2020.
