(Washington, DC)  Registration is now open for the 14th Annual 5K Race for Mental Health on Saturday, October 13, 2007 in Rock Creek Park.  Starting time is 9 am from the Fitzgerald Tennis Center, at 16th and Kennedy Streets, NW.   Cash prizes will be awarded to the first male and first female to cross the finish line.

On line registration is available at www.active.com  with a registration fee of $20 (add a $3 processing fee). Registration forms also are available at the DC Community Services Agency, 1250 U Street, NW, Fourth Floor, or at 3700 10th Street, NW, First Floor.   

Sponsored by the Department of Mental Health Community Services Agency and the Mental Health Advisory Board Collaborative, the race seeks to raise awareness about mental health and the services available.  The race is certified and is a good practice run for those competing in the Marine Marathon the following week.  A one mile walk also will be held.  The registration fee for the walk is $12.

Registration will open at 8 am on race day at the Fitzgerald Tennis Center.   Pre-registered participants can pick up race packets between 8 am and 8:45 am   For more information, call John Graham at
