Applications due April 30, 2014

Washington, DC—The District of Columbia Department of Behavioral Health is accepting applications for part-time and full-time contracted positions to conduct an anonymous consumer satisfaction and perceived quality of care survey for its adult and youth populations.  The part-time positions are 20 hours per week and the full-time positions are 40 hours per week for a maximum of eight weeks through July 2014.  Individuals who self-identify as current or past consumers of mental health services and Certified Peer Specialists are encouraged to apply.

This federally mandated consumer survey is known as the Mental Health Statistics Improvement Program (MHSIP) survey for adults and the Youth Services Survey for Families (Y-SSF). The purpose of the annual survey is to access the consumer’s perceptions of public mental health services that are provided in community mental health centers relating to general satisfaction with services, access to services, quality and appropriateness of services, participation in treatment, cultural sensitivity and outcomes.

A successful applicant must have good verbal, communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrate sensitivity cultural differences; the ability to work independently and in a team environment; perform accurate data input and work flexible hours during the evening and on Saturday.  An applicant also must have a high school diploma or GED.   Individuals who have customer service experience and/or fluent in English and Spanish are highly desirable candidates.   To be awarded a position, an applicant must complete a Department of Behavioral Health orientation and pass an evaluation on the content of the orientation.

An optional Pre-bid Conference to inform potential contractors of the bidding process and to complete a Vendor Application is scheduled for 11 am, Monday, April 28, 2014, at 64 New York Avenue NE, Washington, DC.   If you are unable to attend the pre-bid conference, you can receive a Vendor Application by emailing Meredith Alexander [email protected].

A completed Vendor Application along with a cover letter that describes your ability to meet the qualifications described above and any experience in conducting telephone surveys, along with a resume and two references (optional) can be submitted at the Pre-bid Conference.  If not, these documents must be submitted no later than 5 pm, Wednesday, April 30, 2014, by email to Meredith Alexander at [email protected]  or by delivery to 3rd floor, 64 New York Avenue NE, Washington, DC, 20002, attn.: Meredith Alexander.
