It is estimated that as many as one in five children may have a mental health disorder. Through early intervention and treatment youth with behavioral concerns can live more fulfilling lives. In conjunction with upcoming Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day activities in May, the Department of Behavioral Health is conducting a survey in targeted public and public charter schools to raise awareness about the importance of children’s mental health.140 youth who take the survey will be chosen to watch the Wizards play the Knicks in March.
