DC Department of Mental Health Relocates Adult Clinic Services

Wednesday, June 1, 2011
Power Outage in the Area Affects 35 K Street NE Outpatient Facility

The DC Department of Mental Health has relocated services from its adult clinic located at 35 K Street NE due to a lack of power in the building. Individuals who have appointments for medical injections will be seen. However, individuals with appointments for other services or want to be seen today without an appointment can go to a clinic located at 821 Howard Road SE. Individuals who need prescription refills can go to the Comprehensive Emergency Psychiatric Program (CPEP) clinic located on the grounds of the old DC General Hospital, Building 14, 1905 E Street SE. DMH is providing a shuttle service to the other facilities.

DMH estimates that a small number of people will be affected by the closure of 35 K Street facility.

PEPCO has announced that it expects that power will be restored later today, and it is anticipated that all services will resume at 35 K Street tomorrow, Thursday, June 2, 2011.
