Washington, DC—The District of Columbia Department of Behavioral Health is accepting applications for part-time contracted surveyors to conduct an anonymous consumer satisfaction and perceived quality of care survey for youth and adults enrolled in the public mental health system. Individuals who self-identify as current or past consumers of mental health services and certified peer specialists are encouraged to apply. The part-time position is 20 hours per week for a maximum of 52 weeks from the contract award date.
The purpose of the survey is to assess consumer perceptions of District public mental health services provided in community mental health centers including general satisfaction with services, access, quality and appropriateness of services, participation in treatment, cultural sensitivity and outcomes. Called the Mental Health Statistics Improvement Program Survey for adults and the Youth Services Survey for Families, the consumer survey is federally mandated and conducted each year.
A successful applicant must have good verbal communications and interpersonal skills; demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences; perform accurate data input, and have the ability to work independently and in a team environment. A successful applicant also must be able to work flexible hours from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. A high school diploma or GED is required. Individuals who have customer service experience and/or fluent in English and Spanish are highly desirable candidates. To be awarded a position, an applicant must complete a Department of Behavioral Health orientation and pass an evaluation on the content of the orientation.
An optional Pre-bid Conference to inform potential contractors of the bidding process and to receive a Vendor Application is scheduled at 11 am, Friday, November 20, 2015 at 64 New York Avenue NE, Conference Room 255, Washington, DC. A completed Vendor Application along with a cover letter that describes your ability to meet the qualifications described above and any experience in conducting telephone surveys, a resume, and two references (optional) can be submitted at the Pre-bid Conference.

The deadline for submitting an application is 12 noon, Monday, December 7, 2015. No late application will be considered.
