(Washington, DC) Since 1953, the month of May has been observed nationwide as Mental Health Month, raising awareness about mental illnesses and the importance of mental wellness for all. Here in the District, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty has issued a proclamation encouraging residents to come together to make recovery and resiliency a reality for persons with mental illness.
