Welcome to the Children’s Mental Health Awareness Scavenger Hunt!

Congratulations!  You are taking the first step on a journey to learn more about mental health and why it matters.  Mental health affects us all.  It’s time to talk about it.  This Scavenger Hunt will help you learn how to take care of your mental health and what to do if you or someone you know needs help.

Across the country, young people are participating in activities during May which is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Month to call attention to the importance of paying attention to the mental health of young people. In DC, ten public and public charter middle and high schools are joining the Scavenger Hunt and competing with each other to have the most students participate.  You are helping your school to win!  To be included in the count,  you must complete the Scavenger Hunt between 12:00 am, Monday, April 28, 2014 and 11:59 pm, Tuesday, May 6, 2014.

And, if you sign up to follow us @Dare2CareDC, you might be the lucky one to win an Apple iPad mini!   Get more information about how to win on the Scavenger Hunt.

We've made the Scavenger Hunt quick and convenient for you.  The answers are on the Scavenger Hunt Map—but you have to read it to find the answers.  You will learn about pressures that affect the mental wellness of young people—and may be affecting you or someone you know.  Every day issues such as pressure to do well in school, feeling down or anxious, a bad relationship, money worries, bullying at school or pressures at home.  You will get tips on how to cope and learn that help, if you need it, is right in your school.
